A scripture a day!

This week has been an amazing week! We are having so much success and its fun! The lady Hazel said she would get baptised on Sept. 22! We still have a lot we need to talk to her about and go ever, but I really feel like by that time she will be ready! We had zone training and the AP's said they met a family from America in London, they said they knew me! It must have been the Johnsons!  Today we are going into Bristol to see some street art, it will be sweet, look up a guy named Banksy! He does some cool art.  We haven't had the chance to teach Ben and Philipa. But we saw them the other day and they want us to come by sometime this week!  We have a dinner appointment with the Turveys tomorrow and I'm excited for that! We have a lot of investigators and we are praying by the end of the week to have 3 more baptism dates!!  I know we can do it! I'm memorizing a scripture everyday, send me all your favorite scriptures so I can memorize them! I already have moms. (3 John 1:4)  "I have no greater joy then to hear my children walk in truth". I love you mom! The cookies are so good, we made them to celebrate your B-day!! Thanks for everything you guys do!! Your in my prayers.

The Best Week!

Happy Birthday Mum!

So this has been the best week of my mission so far. It has been amazing. We got 6 new investigators this week, which means we taught 6 lessons!! My new companion and I get along very well. We have a lot of similar interest and we both love to work hard but have fun as we do it. When we pray before we leave the flat we pray for a specific person to find, and every time we have found that person we prayed for. One of the coolest things that happened this week was how we found this awesome family. We were going to visit a referral about 8:30 at night and he wasn't in. We started walking back to the bus stop to catch our bus when we heard some screaming coming from a house. We walked by the house and a couple was watching an England Vs. Italy football match! They had the window opened we asked them what happened and they told us England just scored. We asked if we could come in and watch it with them!  We went in the house and watched for 10 min and then it was half time. During half time we were able to teach the whole plan of salvation lesson, it was awesome! They said we could come back and that they had 3 kids that play rugby. So we will see them this week. Their names are Ben and Philipa. Another lady we taught on Saturday said she would get baptized!  We feel like we need to explain and go over everything again so she really understands what we are saying she is a very sweet and nice lady her name is Hazell. Another cool experience we had was we prayed one morning to find a college student that has similar interest to us. That day we found a guy who went to Bath university and played American Football!!! We told him we would love to come to their practices and show them our American skills! The mission is getting better and better everyday. I'm staring to really enjoy the work and loving the English people.  Dad was talking about how he taught Hyrums primary class about Samual the Lamanite! That's cool, because this week, one morning that is the part of the Book of Mormon i was reading from! I love that story. I'm trying to have that faith that Samual had.  Whenever times are the hardest is when I feel like my faith grows the most. Prayer with faith is the goal this week and it has been a great success. I hope everything is going well at home and thank you for all your prayers. I love all of you! Cheers!

Appointments

My new companion name is Elder Price. He is from Montana and has been out for a year.  He is a good missionary.  Since Elder Price has been here, we have done a lot of finding. The other day we did the most knocking I have ever done, it was about 4 hours strait. It was a hot and humid day so we were very sweaty and tired.  We have 5 appointments this week so we finally have people to teach. I pray that they won't cancel on us. I think the hardest part of the day is planning. Because my companion doesn't know the area.  I have to plan the whole day, and its hard cause I don't know the area that well myself. My two companions are very different so its hard to get used to Elder Price. It was cool this week we saw a guy who played for the USA men's beach volleyball team, I think his last name was Gibb or something, and then later that day we were able to hold the Olympic torch. My companion has a picture and said he would email it too me, so I'll send it to you when i get it. Thanks for all the letters everyone has been sending me. I received the package you sent with the Turvery's, I'm excited to make those cookies. I think the thing that has helped me the most on my mission is the Book of Mormon and prayer. There is no way I would still be out here without those 2 things. Praying for specific things is the key, and has strengthened my testimony so much. Next week I'm excited to tell you about how some of our appointments went!  We could finally have some investigators!! That would be really exciting. I hope everything is going well and I'm praying for you all everyday. Cheers!!

"Who knows but that something wonderful may happen today.  Have faith that it will.  After all, every morning is a chance at a new day!"

New Companion

The start of this week since the last time I emailed you has been crazy! On Monday night we got a call from Pres. Millar and my companion, Elder Perry was asked to be a Zone Leader. So we were both freaking out that night. On Tuesday we did some service for a lady and had lunch there then we came back and Elder Perry went to say goodbye the people in the ward. Once we finished that, we went to play football(soccer), it was so much fun. It was pouring rain and very slippery but we had a blast and we played till about 9:15 and didn't get back to the flat till like 9:45. Then Elder Perry had to get all packed up. He left this morning and it was kinda sad, we got along very well and both liked to work hard. But I haven't met my new companion, he is from Montana and his name is Elder Price. I will meet him at about 6 or 7 tonight. We also had a dinner appointment on Monday night with a very cool family. They are called the Ballochs and they love football, they are going to a Liverpool game tomorrow and said they would get something for me. They recorded the men's 100m dash final, so we were able to watch that. Usain Bolt is insane. Other then that i haven't seen much of the Olympics. The car we drove in yesterday to go play football was so sweet, it was like race car, we had to put straps around both shoulders, it didn't have normal seat belts. We got up to 120 Miles per hour, it was so much fun!!  Remember the lady Sandy that I mentioned about a week ago, it turns out she is a witch!! Weird lady. But on Monday we finally found a guy to teach. He has 4 tractors and seems like a nice guy. His name is Steve. We only talked with him for about a 1 minute but he wanted us to come back so we were both very excited. I'm a little stressed now that Elder Perry is gone because i don't know the area that well and Elder Price has never been to Bath. So I have to know all the transportation and where and who we need to see and I'm just a little nervous, but that is what prayer is for. I'll just rely on Heavenly Father and he will guide us where we need to be. I'm still trying to catch up on writing to people but the work is very busy so its hard to find the time! Tell everyone I love them and thanks for the letters, they really do mean a lot and I love reading them. But Hyrum's letters are still by far the best. I've done the magic trick with the 9 squares like 5 times already, everybody loves it. Hunters B-Day is on Friday, so Happy Birthday Hunter! 18 is a pretty fun age to be, so enjoy it! Next year around this time you'll be getting ready, and it will be here in no time! Thanks for all your prayers, they really help.   Cheers!

2 months today!

This last week has been a tough one. We had one investigator that we were excited to teach, but we called her everyday and she never answered. We have pretty much been knocking and street contacting all week. Sometimes it gets hard, but I just say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father for help and he gives it to me. We have met a lot of cool people, but they never agree for a return apt. My companion is a very hard worker so it is good, every night I go to sleep very tired!! The days feel like they are so long, but I can't believe how fast time goes by! Its been exactly 2 months since I got on that plane. Crazy! Its amazing how much I have learned. Being able to just go up and talk to people was so hard but now its almost like a habit because its what we do all day almost everyday! But I'm excited for this week, tomorrow we have a big football game with the ward, and we have about 20 people coming out, it always feels so good to play football! Me and my companion run every morning and do 20 push-ups whenever we leave or come into the flat so I'm staying in pretty good shape. The guy that said he was related to me met up with us and he took us to a good restaurant. He was a cool guy, and he said we were like 5th cousins or something and showed me how we were related but it just confused me.  A really nice guy and a good meal! I think the highlight of the week was when we were knocking on doors and a girl about 24 years old opened the door, she said she wasn't interested, but then she said I was a good looking kid and said I should go into modeling!!  So that was fun, but that wasn't the real highlight of the week! The real highlight this week was on Wednesday, we had just finished knocking on doors and we were both very tired and walking back to the flat. It was almost 9 and I didn't want to talk to anymore people. But on the way home I felt I needed to talk to this kid. So I did. He was from Romania, we talked with him for about half an hour on the street. We taught him the restoration. He was very interested and said he would love to read the Book of Mormon. We gave him a Book of Mormon and another pamphlet. He said he would have loved to let us come by but he was on his way back to Romania. I know the Lord prepares the people we are supposed to talk to, we just need to talk to everyone to find that one person. Also this week we got our hair-cut, and it was kinda sad, as I looked in the mirror as I was getting it cut I was just hoping to see my mom. And just for the record, my moms haircuts are way better then anyone else's and they are a lot cheaper! it cost 12 pounds to get it cut!! That's almost 24 bucks in America!! I have got a lot of letters this week and I love getting them! Thanks for everyone that has sent them! I will try and write back as soon as I can but I am so busy, its hard to find time! Stephens letter was so helpful, I read it about 5 or 6 times since I got it so make sure he knows I am very grateful for that! Bear Lake looks so fun.  I'm not gonna lie, I'm jealous! Hyrum looks awesome on that bike.   Keep praying that we will find someone to teach. I still feel a little homesick in the morning but it gets better everyday!  I miss you all so much and I have dreams about my brothers and sisters and cousins all the time!! Mom and Dad, I love you. Thank you so much for all that you do, you are amazing.
