She needed a blessing!

This week has been really good! I just wanted to share some cool experiences I had yesterday(:So I had the chance to speak again during sacrament meeting. I spoke on the talk "Mountains to Climb" by Elder Henry B. Erying in the April 2012 session of Conference. I was able to share the story about when I broke my leg, it went very well. Everyone told me I was a natural when it comes to speaking!! ha ha yeah right!! We had an investigator there, Patricia, she is going through a really hard time in her life and she told me that my talk was exactly what she needed to hear, it was cool. Then after church, I had the chance to give a blessing. A new girl from Columbia had recently moved into the ward, she barley speaks any English, a couple of the priesthood holders in the ward were going to give her a blessing and they asked her who they wanted to do it, and she said Elder Hanks. I didn't really even know she needed a blessing, and I just got pulled in. I was very nervous.. my hands were shaking, but when I started it was like it wasn't even me giving the blessing, words were just flowing out of my mouth, it was really cool! We had zone training, it went really well. I had an interview with Pres. Millar and we basically talked about that it has been almost a year since we first met in St. George. He is a great guy! Good to hear about all the farewells! I can't believe Jentry will be here in this beautiful country, he is as almost as lucky as me(: ha ha I love you both very much. Thanks for your wonderful example! I couldn't have made it hear without you.

I'm getting more and more excited for the warm weather.. but it never seems to come!! It has been a week of finding!  To switch up the finding this week, we did whiteboard contacting. It was great, we had a question on a whiteboard that said "Do you believe in God?" and then we had a "yes" and a "no" column. We went to a pretty busy area, and just asked people the question, and had them do a tally for their answer. It was a really good way to get people talking. We had quite a bit of discussions and one or 2 times  people came up to us and were trying to prove there is no God. I say trying because every question they had, we answered. It was very funny to see there reactions and walk away very frustrated. Isn't it great that we have all the answers to so many questions that people have about life? I think it is! So The Book of Mormon musical came out on Saturday and it was pretty intense. The front and back 2 pages of the news paper was covered it adds. You can't walk through a train station without seeing 4 or 5 adds. And the best part of it all is the looks that we get(: Everyone looks at us like were from a different planet or something! Its so funny! I just love being here! Its so great, everyday is a new adventure! How blessed we are to be part of this wonderful gospel! How blessed we are to be able to share it with those around us. I was able to use this scripture a lot this week, it's Alma 32:8-9. Remember to always be praying. Whatever it is we do.  As we listen to the Spirit and say our prayers continually throughout the day we can avoid temptation, and live happy lives(: Hope everyone has a brilliant week! Cheers!

St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I didn't wear green yesterday.. I totally forgot is was the green day. The highlight of this week was brilliant!  We knocked this road called St. Mary's Rd. We did both sides and on each side we found a young family, each one with 2 children! We had the chance to teach them both(: I love teaching new people because it usually means we get to teach the Restoration which I love!! They weren't able to come to church this week, but they said next week they would be able to.  We also have another appointment with each of them which is a difficult thing to do, because everyone is always "so busy" whatever that means. But we are excited about them(: The low of the week.. The other day we had to catch a train to a place called Woking, so we got to the train station, there was a couple people in line at the Ticket machine we waited and the people in the front of the line took FOREVER! The train came, my comp. was able to buy his ticket but I wasn't able to buy mine. So I was  going to purchase it at the Woking train station.. but no, that is not allowed anymore. I have done it 5 times before but the guard at the gates was lame. I had a £20 penalty for a £2 pound train journey.. That's okay though, I was able to give the guard a card(: I was also able to finish the Book of Mormon this week. I love the promise that Moroni gives to all those who read the Book of Mormon with real intent, sincere heart and faith in Christ. The more I test that promise the stronger my testimony gets. I love it! Addlestone is great, England is amazing, sometimes I wonder why I have so many blessings in my life. God loves all of us, he wants us to be happy, do what he says and we will be happy(: have a great week everyone! thanks for your prayers and support! Cheers(:

Squid!

Great time to be in England! The sun is shinning today, and there isn't a place in the world I would rather be! It has been a brilliant week. One highlight: we stopped this guy on the street  and talked to him for about an hour. He is golden. He then told us he lives in Bath! I was so excited! We got his number and address. The lucky missionaries in Bath will get to teach him.  At one of our dinner appointments the dinner was squid. It looked really nasty, the tentacles and everything were on it. Despite how gross it looked, it was actually really good! I ate the whole thing. I can't believe I have been in Addlestone over a month, next week is moves! I hope I get to stay!  I read a cool verse today, found in Isaiah 41:1. Whatever it is we do, as long as we are being righteous and living the Gospel, we should have no fear because the Lord is always with us. Love you all, have a great week! Cheers!
