Faith of Abinidi

So my companions name is Elder Perry if you didn't know, he is a great missionary. I heard that Hunter and Eli were able to teach the first lesson with Austin or something, that is awesome! Since I have been here I have only taught the first lesson at someones home twice. We have taught parts of it a lot out on the street but people never seem to want to see us again, but its okay because I know I am doing what the Lord wants me to do. We are teaching a lady the second lesson this week, her name is Sandy Palmer. She is about 50 and might have been a witch or something. She is a very sweet lady and says she believes everything we say, so that is cool. We have been knocking on a lot of doors this week and done a lot of street contacting and we are just praying for people to teach. We set up a football game in the ward next Tuesday and we have a ton of less actives coming out so it will be good. The other day after district meeting I was standing at a bus stop in my suit and it was pouring rain, a car decided to drive right by us and all the water in the gutter splashed on to me.. I was soaked! My companion was laughing his head off! I am seriously learning so much in my study. I read from the Book of Mormon and Preach my Gospel every morning I  love the story of Abinidi. He only converts one soul to the gospel, but because of that one person (Alma) hundreds of people are baptized. Its such a good story. I'm trying to have the faith of Abinidi and I know my faith grows everyday and will continue to grow. The Lord blesses all those that will do what he asks of them. I'm not near the Olympics, but I hear about it from the members in the ward and it sounds awesome. A guy in the Reading ward, which is in my mission area, called me the other day and said he was doing family history and said that we were related. So he is coming to Bath tonight and taking us out to dinner so that will be fun!  Love you all, thanks for your prayers!

Knocking on doors

This week has been very busy.  We have done so much walking and traveling but its all for good use. My companion is so good to me and is a great example and a very hard worker! We have met a lot of weird people knocking and tracking, my comp. told me that he has been out for 10 months and hasn't experienced as many weird experiences as we have in these last 2 weeks. On the bus the other day and man told me that the Olympics were of the devil so that was different. But yesterday we had a cool experience. We were walking down a road after a couple hours of knocking we stopped a lady and started talking to her and at first she was saying that we have to many wives and that we are a colt, but we kept talking to her and the Lord softened her heart and we taught her the first lesson. She said she believed it all and we are going back to teach her more on Friday. We have a big football game planned in 2 weeks that I'm way excited for! For some reason the youth and YSA in our ward love to play basketball, so I'm playing a lot more basketball than football which kinda sucks, cause I want to play some real football! Today all of the zone is coming to Bath to see all the sites. Usually for P-Day we just go to a chapel and play basketball and volleyball. Another fun experience this week was when we were knocking and a man answer the door and he said he wasn't interested and we asked if he needed help with anything and we ended up tearing off wall paper for the next couple hours so that was fun! We are supposed to do about 3 hours of service a week. Sounds like everything is going well at home and its good to hear!  If I were to give any future missionaries advice it would be to enjoy being with your family. The thing I miss most  is definitely my family! Thanks for all your prayers they really do help. Hunter is going to love school. Keep up the good work in soccer Heber. I have talked with a lot of people here about football a lot of people love Tottenham around here and Liverpool. The mission is the hardest thing i have ever done but i have also learned so much in so little time! I love you all and I thank you all for being great examples to me. I wouldn't be out here if it weren't for you. Tell grandma happy b-day! It is finally sunny today! It feels so good to be in the sun! It has been raining so much and now there is not a cloud in the sky. Love all of you, hope you have a great week!!

beautiful place

It's my first p-day in Bath and were going over to place to play basketball cause its raining today. Everyone wanted to come to Bath to take pictures and hang here cause its a gorgeous place but is raining hard so that won't happen. So yesterday was church and the ward is awesome, I had to bear my testimony which went really well! Then we taught a lady and she was weird and my companion talked most the time cause i was so confused at what she was talking about! But then we had a dinner apt. at this families house, very wealthy family, they live in the Circus in Bath and they live in the house Nicolas Cage used to live in!! Very beautiful house and the mother is from Seattle so we had a good dinner. I need to buy a new suit cause we wear one almost everyday and the AP's told us if we only have one we need to get another, and it will be about 50 pounds or 100$ for a pretty good one. I Love you all so much and miss you like crazy, it was hard at church not seeing anyone I knew but i'll get used to it. I love you all and hope to hear from you soon, I will be able to email on Mondays. Love you!

Amazing exchanges!

It has been a very busy and fun week! We had 2 exchanges this week and they were both amazing! The first one was with just our district and i was supposed to go with the other trainer but they decided the two Greene's should go together! So i had to stay in Bath and the other Greene came with me! I don't know the area very well and we had to catch a couple buses around to where we were going I was a little stressed cause we had a lot of plans and i would have to take the lead in teaching! It went well and we got everywhere we were supposed to be. I prayed a lot that day, the Lord really helped me. The next exchange was with the ZL's, it was so much fun, and i learned a ton. The ZL that i went with was from New Zealand! He was so funny and a great missionary, we were in Bath again and i had to act as the senior companion which was weird cause i felt he had so much more experience! But he was so good at talking with people and relating everything with the gospel. When i was with him we gave out 3 BOMs which was really good for street contacting. My companion is so good! He is very obedient which is so good. He has taught me a lot and makes me do most of the talking with people in the streets and when we knock doors I'm learning very fast. It is actually his B-Day today and he has been out about 1 year. His house is exactly one hour from our flat, he could catch a train and be home in an hour, so weird. I'm like 12 hours away from my home! We had some funny experiences this week. We met this guy on the street and he told us that Jesus Christ is an alien and believes that he is too... His name is Flash Gorden, and says we believe in crazy things.. whatever! Another man we met said we shouldn't be wearing nice clothes around the streets, and said a prayer for us in the middle of the sidewalk, i couldn't help but laugh while he said the prayer. We were sitting on a bus and a man was rolling up a smoke, completely drunk and we taught him the first lesson as he was getting his smoke ready, don't think he really understood anything we said but it was good practice if anything. The word crap or crappy i guess is really bad here so when i was teaching a lesson with a member family and said that word the family looked at me like i had just killed someone! We had interviews with the President Millar on Saturday and it was very nice to see him. On our way to our interviews we were standing at a bus stop and we had about a 5 min wait so we decided to go knock 2 doors. We said a prayer that we would be able to hand out a book of Mormon, the second door we knocked took the book of Mormon and said they would read it. Very cool.  Be very specific in your prayers and Heavenly Father will provide if you have faith. Thanks for all the letters.  I got letters from Eli and his family the other day and it was great reading them. I don't know about the Olympics, i don't even know when they start or if we get to be involved or anything. I'm far from London, and the mission home so we don't hear much. I love Stephens post cards with the wolves on them, they are awesome. The Lake Powell trips sounds like it was a lot of fun, and I'm glad everyone stayed safe! Its good that Mckay is about to leave, he is going to love it!  We are teaching a family and an old lady right now. The family are Jehovah Witnesses and we are trying are best with them but they went on to the Internet and read all the anti Mormon stuff so that was not good. The other lady we are teaching is Catholic and she doesn't seem to remember what we teach her so that's hard.  We are finding that not to many people here want to hear what we have to say some days it gets hard. The ward here is so great and the food is pretty good! I have potatoes probably every other day. We see miracles everyday, and it is amazing. The mission is very hard but i have changed so much and rely on the Lord for everything. I know that this will be the best thing i will do in my life and will grow so much. Thanks for your prayers and support, it really does help so much. Love you.

Good Week

Hello family and friends! It has been a good week, I had my first zone conference and i was able to meet President and Sister Millar! They are so cool, I'm excited i get to be with them for the next 2 years! Thanks for keeping me posted on what is going on at home and that is so cool about Austin, tell him i said congratulations! I think the priests just left for Lake Powell 5 min ago to bad i couldn't email before now. I remember that day like it was yesterday and its been about 2 years that's crazy. Those were some fun and hard days! Yesterday i was at a dinner appointment and the wife is from Paige so they have pictures of Lake Powell all over the house! The dinner reminded me of one at home because the families backyard connected with their grandparents, and they had 5 kids i felt very at home! I'm lucky to be in here the ward is so great. We have a dinner appointments every day this week! People in England like very tight clothing, even the fat people! Its funny because when i talk to people and they have a buttoned up shirt, it looks like the buttons are gonna just pop off! Dad was wondering if i have played the piano yet and i haven't but yesterday at church they asked if i played the piano and i might have to go play at a funeral on Friday. I'll probably be practicing this week. It will actually be nice to practice a little cause that's the closest thing to xbox as you can get. Hyrum was wondering how many Book Of Mormons i have given out and i think its at about 7 or 8 since i have been in the area. We had dinner at the Stake Presidents house on Friday night and they said they would be in Utah on Monday because they have a house in American Fork, so they said if i wanted to give them a letter to take to my family i could give it to them in church on Sunday.  I gave them our address and Moms cell phone number and the house phone number because i figured dad would probably be gone. Mom be near your phone if they call. The mission is still very hard but I'm starting to get along easier, and everyday i feel like I'm growing and changing so much. It is still very annoying that i have to take tubs in the morning because it takes longer, and sometimes you just get so relaxed in it. If i had to do this mission without the Lord there would be no way. I miss my home and all my friends but I'm learning to love the people in England. I love all of you and hope your all enjoying the sun because there isn't much of it here! keep me posted on whats going on at home, thanks for every ones support.
